Madou Monogatari (魔導物語 Madō Monogatari, Sorcery Saga) is a series of primarily first-person dungeon crawler RPGs. The series was created by Compile and it is currently owned by D4 Enterprise, with the latest entry having been made by Compile Heart. Its spinoff series, Puyo Puyo, uses characters and settings from the Madou Monogatari games. Set in the fantasy land of the World of Sorcery, it follows the adventures of several characters, mainly Arle Nadja, as they traverse through various labyrinths. In most games, there are no visual stats, and the player must rely on cues such as their character's expressions and quotes to determine their condition. In more recent years, special remastered compilations of games in the series have been released for modern PCs in collaboration with Sega, as part of D4's Project EGG collection.
In October 2023, a brand new entry featuring the original characters, tentatively titled Madou Monogatari 4, was announced in Famitsu. Its name was later changed to Madou Monogatari: Fia and the Mysterious School.

Trivia
- Sometime around 2002, Compile had been planning a Madou Monogatari game for the Game Boy Advance[1] featuring the world and characters seen in Pochi and Nyaa. Concept art for Prim[2] and brand new characters[3] illustrated by the franchise's former character artist Ichi were shared on Twitter by former scenario writer Keiji Uemizu in 2015 and 2021. While not much is known about the game, the official Pochi and Nyaa website reveals that the Tower seen in Pumpkey's stage (PlayStation 2 version only) was planned to be the first dungeon to be explored in the game.[4] The game's development was seemingly never revisited due to the poor sales of Pochi and Nyaa.
- Additionally, Graber makes an appearance in Madou Monogatari (i-Mode)[5], though due to the small amount of info about the game due to its incredibly short release period, it's unclear what purpose he might have served in the game.
